Not long ago, I relocated to Northwest Arkansas. I was instantly taken by the natural beauty of the area. Lakes, rivers and Ozark Mountain hiking trails are close enough for me to enjoy any weekend and in some cases, after work during the week.
I’ve just begun to explore a few of the natural treasures around my new location. I thought it would be fun to document and share my experiences with other like-minded folks. Backpacking, cycling, day hiking, trail running, fly-fishing or paddling sports, all are up for exploration or discussion on the Saturday Adventure. And this forum isn’t limited to NW Arkansas. I will occasionally post some photos or short videos of other beautiful, natural places that stir the soul. I wish every day was Saturday. –Mike Davis
Hi Mike: So excited that you have set this up to show your collection of videos. This is so awesome! Looking forward to seeing many more to come. Congrats!
Thanks so much, Sheree. I appreciate your encouragement.
Hey man,
I really love your ideas and your website layout, i was wondering what kind of program you used to create your site.
Brandon,
Thank you, glad you like the content. The site is all built in WordPress. I designed the header graphic in PhotoShop. I shoot most of the video with a flip camera and edit in iMovie. I tend to keep it simple so I can just post and go.

Hey,
I found one of your videos on youtube a couple weeks ago and just realized that you have your own site, so I stopped by to take a look. It looks awesome! I also wanted to invite you to a forum for backpacking and hiking in Arkansas. It is http://www.backpackingarkansas.com. You may already know about it and be a member, if so, glad to have you! If not stop and and share all your adventure. We also have a contest for day hiking and backpacking. We just had a gathering in the middle of October for all the members and to give away the prizes from last years contests. It’s like the “hangs” that hammockforums.net has. We’ve got quite a few hangers too. I just got into backpacking a couple years ago and am in the process of starting to hang. Anyways, I’m hikerb on the forum and we would love to have you! Again, great site, I will be checking in on a regular basis now that I’ve found it!

Brandon,
Thanks for the gracious invitation to your forum. I will absolutely stop by. And thank you so much for taking time to visit and comment on SaturdayAdventure.com. Hope to meet you at a hang sometime. I know there is a spring hang scheduled for March 2012 at Kyle’s Landing on the Buffalo. I have it on my calendar.

I belong to the Takahik Club homebased in Russellville, AR and wanted to let you know how gratifying it is to see how you chronicle your love of the outdoors. I am so proud of the beauty of the area within driving distance of Pope County. Your website and weekly chronicles allow more people to share that beauty. I will continue to follow your site.
Thanks Mary Ann. I call ‘em as I see ‘em. It’s easy to be passionate about the beauty of The Natural State.
Heya… Great site! I saw your post on HF and came to see your site. Very well done. Simple and to the point! Have a blast on the trails…
Thanks Red! Having a ball with the hammock. No looking back at this point.
